Location, location, location.   Situated on West 63rd Street between Central Park West and Broadway, The West Side YMCA is a budget hotel in a wonderful location. Around the corner is Central Park with Strawberry Fields and its tribute to John Lennon, as well as Bethesda Fountain and the Tavern on the Green restaurant. Down the street is Lincoln Center, home to The New York City Opera, The New York City Ballet, The New York Philharmonic, Avery Fisher Hall, American Ballet Theater, the Metropolitan Opera and Lincoln Center Theater. Down the block and to the right is Columbus Avenue with its trendy assortment of restaurants and shopping.

The West Side YMCA is easily accessible by public transportation. The 1,9 trains stop at 66th Street and Broadway. The A, C, E, B, D, N and R subways are just a few blocks away. The YMCA is surrounded by bus routes. The #10 runs along Central Park West. On Broadway there are the #104, #5 and #7. Cross-town buses are also nearby.

For the health minded, staying at the West Side YMCA offers a special perk: included in the room rate is unlimited use of the two story health club. Open from 5am till 11pm, the 65,000-square-foot fitness center amenities include 2 indoor pools, state of the art cardiovascular equipment, basketball, racquetball and volleyball facilities, saunas and steam rooms. In addition there are over 100 group fitness classes ranging from spinning to yoga and tango dance.
The West Side YMCA has 500 guest rooms spread over 13 floors. The 12th and 13th floors have been completely renovated and offer private bathrooms as well as panoramic views of Central Park. The other floors have shared baths. Bed choices include traditional doubles and singles as well as bunk beds. The simply decorated rooms include a desk and tv.
Amenities include a casual, self-serve restaurant on the main floor, 24-hour security, an airport shuttle, and a tour desk.
